Airports, cruise lines, and theme parks have already adjusted their schedules as Hurricane Milton is approaching Florida’s west coast.

Travelers are encouraged to keep monitoring the Category 5 storm path and take advantage of flexible policies that result from closures and changes in itineraries.

The storm strengthens as Hurricane Milton approaches the Gulf of Mexico, with the state of Florida ready for its coming, expected to land somewhere on the west coast of the state by Wednesday, Category 5 Milton prompting Governor Ron DeSantis to declare a state of emergency for 51 counties.

It has been reported that the three major airlines; American, Delta, and United, have already issued travel waivers to enable passengers to change their flights either into Florida or out of Florida without a fee.

Tampa International Airport is scheduled to close its operations as early as Tuesday morning, while other airports would do the same once it reaches the land.

Florida’s iconic theme parks are keeping an eye on the strong storm, yet neither Walt Disney World nor Universal Orlando closed its doors yet. Amusement parks are flexible with cancellation and rescheduling policies for visitors whose reservations are set for tomorrow.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay will close its door from Tuesday through Thursday, and LEGOLAND Florida Resort will close Wednesday and Thursday.

Cruise lines are also changing courses.

Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Disney Cruise Line have altered their itineraries, steering ships away from areas recently plagued by storms, postponed or replaced stops to destinations such as Nassau, Cozumel, and the Bahamas to sea days to ensure passengers’ safety.
