As the 2023 NBA draft got off with the Lakers, there was Bronny, 19 years old, who came in to shock the group and do well under what some might have construed as challenging situations. The score sheet for Bronny read 12 points on 3-of-6 three-point attempts, four assists, and three rebounds. LeBron scored 24 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in the contest. They were permitted to share the court for some short minutes during the second quarter and received a thunderous ovation from an excited crowd.

As the game got underway at the Staples Center, the excitement grew in the arena. And so came LeBron and Bronny’s much-anticipated moment on the same court, and no great period had to elapse before they took the floor together in the first quarter. But though they botched plays with irritating frequency, drawing groans from the crowd, they did enough to be seen as chemistry.

LeBron had 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists going into bed whereas Bronny scored 10 points on his debut. “Playing with my son is a dream for me, this is something special for our family,” said LeBron after the game.

Despite the historical meaning of what they will have shared on the court, it was Davis who stole the show in the game. The young man amassed 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks as he showcased to the world what kind of defender he is, as well as his offense skills. Davis proved very effective in the paint, making some timely conversions to help the Lakers sustain their lead.

“AD was a beast tonight,” LeBron said. “He set the tone for us, and when he plays like that, it elevates the whole team.”

Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns simply couldn’t contain the Lakers frontcourt, and Davis punished mismatches all night long. Edwards scored 24, but the difference here was just that Lakers’ defense with Davis, and obviously it was going to be too much to overcome.

The added emotional depth kicked in as Bronny joined the game, and now whenever he touched that basketball, fans chanted his name. “This experience is something I’ll never forget,” Bronny said postgame. “I’m just grateful to be part of this team and share this moment with my dad.”.

The historic look of LeBron and Bronny was all over the news, but it was Anthony Davis who proved to be the shining star in this game, branding himself as a super player who would be one of the strong Lakers players this season. The chemistry between the James brothers and the dominance of Anthony Davis might be the key for the Lakers to win another championship.
