Princess Cruises is partially reenacting its 1965 inaugural cruise in celebration of its 60th anniversary. With stops at famous locations, live performances, and special appearances, the commemorative cruise will retrace the Mexican Riviera itinerary, providing a distinctive fusion of luxury and nostalgia.
As Princess Cruises celebrates its 60th anniversary with a unique homage to its first voyage, the company is embarking on a historic journey. Departing on December 6, 2025, the commemorative two-week voyage will retrace parts of Princess Patricia’s inaugural 1965 itinerary.
Departing from Los Angeles, California, the 3,560-guest Royal Princess will take guests on this nostalgic voyage.
Along with overnight accommodations in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, the program also includes visits to Manzanillo, Mazatlan, and Loreto. The event is a perfect throwback to the original Mexican Riviera cruise, which included these locations as well.
Legendary R&B group The Temptations will play their timeless tunes, such as the well-known “My Girl,” which also marks its 60th anniversary this year, adding to the nostalgia.
The cruise will be hosted by Jill Whelan, who played Vicki Stubing in the beloved television series The Love Boat. The cherished series was famously set against the backdrop of Princess Cruises.
The cruise, which starts at $2,217 per person, covers lodging, meals, and a variety of activities while on board. It is anticipated that further programming and special guests will be revealed.
Princess Cruises CEO Gus Antorcha stated, “This 60th Anniversary Cruise will not only celebrate our legacy but also highlight the timeless joy of cruise travel.”
Both cruise and history buffs will find this trip to be quite remarkable.
