The Hyde Park Discovery Partnerships of the University of Chicago with Deerfield Management can advance new treatments in commitments worth as much as $130 million.
A Hyde Park Discovery is happy to announce a partnership with Deerfield Management that will speed up the discovery of new medicines and treatments that can save lives. During the next ten years, Deerfield Management will invest in funding and also provide operational and scientific expertise for discoveries from the University of Chicago that hold promise in becoming novel therapies with as much as $130 million.
This strategic alliance will integrate the leading-edge research and innovation capabilities of the University of Chicago in a few key therapeutic areas with Deerfield’s deep knowledge in developing healthcare products. A co-oversee committee, composed of members from the University, the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Deerfield’s scientific team, will jointly assess the projects to reach Investigational New Drug readiness on an accelerated time course.
Mark Anderson is the Dean of the Biological Sciences Division and the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago.
