The yearly event, once known as Media Day, allowed fans and reporters to hear from players and coaches directly leading up to the big game. Delighted Eagles were first on the podium at 7:05 p.m. CT, with the Chiefs appearing at 8:50 p.m. CT.

 Highlights and Takebacks

Sirianni Meets an Old Friend at the Podium

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni might have been somewhat embarrassed Saturday after former NFL wide receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson came to his podium and kissed him on the cheek. Realizing who had done it, an embarrassed Sirianni erupted into a laugh, thus giving everyone present a chance to hear from him about their light-hearted verbal exchange.

Barkley Jokingly Counters With Giants

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley lavished a playful exchange that teased Jameis Winston, who had been employed by the Fox Sports as a correspondent. When asked regarding his next move in free agency, possible return to his former team, the New York Giants, because of their perennial quarterback woes, came out of Barkley in jest.

On Friday, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce provided insight into their preparation for the Sunday game, stating that experience and chemistry are primary conditions for preparation destined for success. Eagles Center Cam Jurgens, who sustained injuries early in the season, said he is good to go for the game. Chiefs Defensive Coach Dave Merritt shared the way his team will handle the explosive offense of the Eagles while reflecting on their past Super Bowl victories.

 Fan Experience and Broadcast Coverage

Fans attending Opening Night had the opportunity to meet NFL legends, receive autographs, take part in interactive experiences, and watch the live event on the NFL Network streaming on NFL+.

With the excitement building, both teams are now in full preparation mode for Super Bowl LIX set to take place on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome.
