As they arrived at the 9/11 anniversary commemoration in downtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump shake hands again.

Harris seemed prompted by Bloomberg when he leaned over President Joe Biden to shake hands with Trump, who was standing next to former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Harris was positioned between New York Sen. Chuck Schumer and President Joe Biden.

When questioned about the discussion later in the day during his visit to the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, Trump characterized it as “very polite”. He refrained from disclosing the words said between the two contenders.

Sen. JD Vance, the vice presidential candidate, stood next to Trump when they shook hands, and he told Fox News that it was “cordial and polite.”

Less than 12 hours had passed since Harris and Trump first interacted during an ABC News-hosted presidential debate in Philadelphia.

After eight years without a handshake on the presidential debate stage, Trump and Harris finally shook hands Tuesday night. Before or after the debate, no regulations or requirements are demanding a handshake.

After the Ground Zero ceremony, Biden and Harris attended 9/11 commemorations at Shanksville and the Pentagon.

Terrorists thought they could subdue our will and bring us to our knees on this day 23 years ago. They were in error. They’ll always be mistaken, according to Biden’s assertion. Even in the deepest darkness, we discovered light. And despite our fears, we banded together to support one another and defend our nation.”

“We have finally won our longest war today. However, we are and will always be committed to stopping another attack on our people,” he declared.
