Coco Gauff splits with her coach after a string of duds at the US Open.

Disappointingly, the young starlet outplayed on her arrival but was unable to capitalize on her good form into the competition after what had otherwise been a quality season.

One of the favorites going into the US Open was Gauff, 19, especially after a series of strong showings throughout the summer hardcourt season, including victories at the Citi Open and Cincinnati Masters. However, she couldn’t carry that momentum into the Grand Slam event and fell short of her high standards.

We’ve had a great run, but sometimes change is needed for growth, said Gauff in a brief statement referring to needing to move in “another direction” to advance her career.

Gauff’s coaching team has been in the spotlight since she began with a string of heavy-hitting mentorship early in her career, along with the likes of tennis legend Patrick Mouratoglou. The latest coach had helped her through a breakout season but a collaboration that seemed to falter under the US Open pressure.

According to tennis analysts, there was inconsistency in her plays during the tournament; it was characterized by inconsistency, which culminated in mishaps with her serve and a high number of unforced errors. Some say the move is a step toward fixing some of those problems ahead of her next career stage under new coaches for the young American.

All eyes will be on Gauff’s next move as this youngster has potentially turned out to be 19 years of age to be one of the brightest talents in this sport with a good chance of bouncing back stronger in future tournaments. Speculation already is on the rise about who will be her new coach, possibly several renowned figures in the sport.

Gauff is expected to return in the Asian swing of the WTA tour where she will have a chance to rebuild her form and continue in the grand slam pursuit.
