UPDATE: Apple has rolled out a personalized emoji, AI-sourced illustrations, and Siri made possible by ChatGPT into its latest iOS 18.2 upgrade for the latest iPhones.
It introduced a highly developed AI bundle for its latest iPhones, which was designed to enrich the user experience and boost sales ahead of the holiday season. One of the iOS 18.2 features includes “Genmojis,” where you can create unique emojis in a breeze, and “Image Playground,” which is an application designed to make illustrations AI-created. Another addition is OpenAI’s ChatGPT into Siri, which allows for even more engaging and context-aware responses.
These features will be available only in the iPhones manufactured after 2023, like the iPhone 16 and the costlier iPhone 15 series. This exclusivity will create an upgrade cycle that may make Apple’s profits and valuation more spectacular.
Apple retains its focus on user privacy by primarily processing AI data on devices or in secure data centers. Moreover, it also facilitates AI features by implementing local English versions of the operating system in regions such as Australia, Canada, and the UK.
This would put Apple ahead of the game against its competitors, such as Samsung and Google, who have included the AI functionality in their devices as well.
