The co-founder of Microsoft and billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates has issued warnings about two big global issues: the ongoing epidemic and the prospect of war.

Bill Gates believes that a lot of the current unrest in the world might spark a big war, and even if one is prevented, a pandemic could break out, probably within the next 25 years.

He said that in the case of a pandemic, the major question is whether nations are prepared enough compared to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020. He feels that the nations were unprepared for the global outbreak of 2020.

In a conversation with CNBC Make It, Gates said, “The country that the world expected to lead and be the model fell short of those expectations,” referring to the United States.

Bill Gates’s Book on Pendemic

In his book “How to Prevent the Next Pandemic,” published in 2022, Bill Gates chastised several governments for their lack of readiness to contain the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020.

He also offered strategies in his book for dealing with the pandemic in nations all around the world. They included strengthening vaccine research and development, enforcing strict quarantine regulations, and establishing effective disease monitoring systems.

“Sadly, far fewer than I would have predicted have been learned from the coronavirus pandemic, even though some have been learned. It’s still not happening that we get together and discuss what went well and what didn’t. Maybe in the next five years, things will improve. However, it’s fairly shocking thus far,” Gates stated, addressing the pandemic.

In the upcoming Netflix series “What’s Next? The Future with Bill Gates,” the billionaire will explore measures to avoid a pandemic.

Bill Gates has previously voiced his fears regarding this pandemic. He had already voiced his concerns about the pandemic on several public forums.

He claimed that the threats associated with COVID-19 had “dramatically reduced” in 2022 at Germany’s annual Munich Security Conference, but another pandemic is almost a given.
