Hayden Christensen Teases More Darth Vader Stories In ‘Star Wars’ Universe: “There’s A Lot We Could Still Tell”

Hayden Christensen Teases

Hayden Christensen isn’t stepping away from the dark side just yet. The actor, who brought Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader to life in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, has confirmed he’ll return in Ahsoka Season 2, and he’s not ruling out more appearances either.

There’s a lot that we could still explore with Vader,” Christensen said during an interview with ComicBook at the recent Star Wars Celebration in Japan.

Exploring More of Vader’s Story

Christensen explained that there’s still a deep well of stories left untold about the Sith Lord.

I think from where we left off, after Episode III, and everything that he has to reconcile after he’s trapped in this new version of himself, there’s just a lot of very rich stories that we could still tell,” he said.

He also made it clear that he’s fully onboard for more appearances, adding:

I’d love to get to continue with it, and so hopefully we’ll get to do more of it.

A Long History with the Galaxy Far, Far Away

Christensen first portrayed Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and later in Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005), which followed Anakin’s transformation into Darth Vader.

He reprised the role in 2022 for Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series, reuniting with Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan in a long-anticipated showdown. In Ahsoka, Christensen’s Anakin returned again, this time offering fans a chance to see the more heroic, mentor-like side of the character.

Growing Into the Role

Speaking to Complex in a separate interview, Christensen said his connection to the role has deepened over time.

I think my understanding of the character is just continuing to grow,” he said.

He’s a very complex character, and there’s a lot going on. But I’m really loving getting to sort of play the more heroic side of the character in the Ahsoka show, and I’m very excited for Season 2.
