With new attractions scheduled to open in 2026, players of Minecraft will soon be able to experience their favorite game in real life. Mojang Studios and Merlin Entertainments have partnered to bring immersive Minecraft-themed experiences to the United States and the United Kingdom, with additional sites to come.
The world of Minecraft has expanded outside the screen. Soon, real-life attractions will let fans of the well-known video game enter its imaginative, blocky world. Mojang Studios, the company behind Minecraft, has partnered with Merlin Entertainments, the owner of LEGOLAND and other well-known attractions, to make the game a reality.
The first attractions with a Minecraft theme are scheduled to open in the United States and the United Kingdom between 2026 and 2027, with plans to establish other locations thereafter.
Digital components in these immersive experiences will enable users to access premium in-game content. In addition to an exhilarating ride with a Minecraft theme, the attractions will offer lodging, shops, and food and drink options.
The collaboration is exciting, according to Kayleen Walters of Microsoft, the company that owns Mojang Studios, who said that players will be able to experience Minecraft “in ways they’ve never imagined.”
After successful collaborations with LEGO and Peppa Pig, this is Merlin’s first foray into the gaming industry.
According to Scott O’Neil, CEO of Merlin, the business intends to invest more than $110 million in these initial attractions, indicating ambitious plans for future growth.
Given the widespread popularity of Minecraft, it is anticipated that these new attractions would attract sizable crowds and provide a completely different way to enjoy the well-loved game.
