Paul Walter Hauser Says Fantastic Four Will Spark Marvel’s “New Tide of Storytelling”

Paul Walter Hauser Says Fantastic Four Will Spark Marvel’s

Marvel might be going through a rough time, but actor Paul Walter Hauser believes the studio is about to bounce back in a big way. He says the upcoming Fantastic Four: First Steps is the movie to do it.

Hauser, who makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the upcoming film, told The Direct that the 2025 blockbuster will mark a fresh wave of storytelling success for the studio, which was something Marvel fans have been hoping for.

“We Are the Marvel Movie of the Year”

In his bold statement, Hauser compared the upcoming Fantastic Four film to previous surprise hits like Guardians of the Galaxy and Black Panther movies that redefined what Marvel could be and delivered both critical acclaim and box office success.

I believe we are the Marvel movie of the year. I believe we are the one to watch,” Hauser said.

And I believe this will go down in history as one of the ones that started a new tide of successful storytelling for the company.

He added, “Let’s remember that Marvel is servicing a lot of folks, and they want to make a lot of entertainment… none of us are 100%. Not a single one of us.

A Comeback After Some Missteps

Marvel has had a mixed track record in recent years. While 2024’s Deadpool and Wolverine became a billion-dollar hit, other films like Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantumaniaThe Marvels, and this year’s Captain America: Brave New World have underperformed.

Hauser remains confident that Fantastic Four will stand out and turn the tide.

All Eyes on Marvel’s First Family

Fantastic Four: First Steps is directed by Matt Shakman and stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Marvel’s first family. Ralph Ineson and Julia Garner take on villain roles as Galactus and Silver Surfer, while Hauser and John Malkovich are playing mystery characters.

With a cast packed with star power and high expectations, Hauser’s excitement mirrors that of many fans eager to see the Fantastic Four done right.

The film hits theaters on July 25, 2025, from Marvel and Disney.
