According to CBS Sports Analyst Pete Prisco both AFC and NFC Championship Games will see road underdogs win against strong favorites in intense matches. Mr. Prisco reveals his NFL Championship predictions.
NFC Championship: Washington Commanders will take a six-point loss when they confront the Philadelphia Eagles in this matchup.
After surpassing season forecasts the Washington Commanders succeed because of rookie Jayden Daniels’ outstanding performance. Following their win over Detroit the Commanders prepare to face Philadelphia Eagles who maintain one of the league’s best defenses under Vic Fangio.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ dominant defense relies on Jalen Carter for their lead and Saquon Barkley operates as their reliable running back. Based on the difficulties Prisco sees the Commanders need Daniels’ mental strength to attack Philadelphia’s weak defensive zone. According to Prisco, the Commanders will win their first Super Bowl in 31 years with a tense final score of 27-26.
This is an AFC Championship game: Buffalo Bills with Kansas City Chiefs (-2). Here we go with another installment of the Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes saga in the AFC Championship tussle. The Chiefs have had their way in this playoff war over the years, but according to Prisco, this 2025 Bills team is now completely different. This is an offense that can move the ball, so much so that it is easily balanced and progressive as far as their defense is concerned.
Buffalo’s offense finally got into the groove. Allen brings a running and passing game that overwhelms Kansas City. Nonetheless, it will be hard to overlook home-field advantage for Kansas City, nor will it be easy to wrap around Mahomes’ mind come crunch time.
But Prisco insists that the Bills will break through and maul the Chiefs in the case of a 24-23 showdown. The Super Bowl will be the first for Buffalo since 1994.
Reason too for Prisco’s confidence in two underdogs. The psychological readiness and momentum mean Commanders and Bills may be difficult to handle on their turf, making them a realization of a nightmare for opponents as their road profile.
Championship Sunday will be a great showcase of football, great dramatization, and possibly an upset. It is going to be intriguing to watch if the visiting squads live up to Prisco yet again, but there will be a lot of excitement flowing through the fans, in any case.
