Park City, UT- Olympic gold medalist and skiing champion Lindsey Vonn returns from a two-year absence as she returns to competition from a series of injuries that stopped her from skiing for such a long time. Often considered one of the skiers to compete at the alpine’s highest levels over history, Vonn said she doesn’t know how much potential the comeback has: “I don’t know how far I can take it. But so far, it’s been incredible.”
Vonn, 39, is an American retired professional skier who was part of the World Cup circuit for a decade with a gold medal at the Winter Olympics in 2010. But now she has a sore knee and she does not know whether she would be able to run again because she has had operations on the knee several times. Terrestrial Flexibility She used to tilt her body while performing soft Skiing and light exercise a few weeks ago, and she returned to the ski resort this week to practice more and free Skiing.
I never thought I’d be back on these slopes,” said Vonn reflecting on an emotional journey she had before resuming the sport of skiing. “The injuries and recovery were difficult, but there was always a piece of me wanting to test my limits of whether that was it, and then this, if I got to the second page after all the difficulties.”
Vonn’s return is a testament to her toughness and skiing passion. Though she didn’t give any indication to return to competitive skiing, she still remains involved through coaching and mentoring. She said she also wanted to work with these young athletes while giving space to the brand, other media projects, and what she has going on philanthropically through the foundation.
Vonn said: I have learned that skiing is still such a part of me. It is not only skiing through the slopes but it also encompasses the feel of the wind, the rush of adrenaline, and nature. That’s something I would like to keep doing for as long as I can or until I can achieve my aims.
It is partly this enthusiasm that has been termed as having come back with references to Vonn’s performance on the slopes and also the slopes of her success and accomplishments of the cameras. Compete or not compete, her place as one of the sport’s most legendary heroes remains firmly etched.
