When actor Amaury Nolasco speaks of Puerto Rico, his eyes light up with pride. Famous for his Prison Break role, Nolasco is now leading a new mission: urging tourists to visit his home with curiosity and respect.

In his latest campaign, A Love Letter from Puerto Rico, Nolasco writes movingly about the island’s traditions, its people’s hospitality, and cultural diversity.

“Puerto Rico is not just a destination; it’s a living, breathing society,” he explains. “Each visit is an opportunity to experience the island’s soul.

The effort, a component of the Live Boricua campaign, invites guests to venture beyond San Juan beaches. Nolasco invites tourists to experience chinchorreo—hopping from bar to bar on the roadside—and engaging with residents to see the island in its true form.

But it’s more than food and celebration. Nolasco also emphasizes protecting the island’s vulnerable ecosystems, such as Flamenco Beach and El Yunque National Forest. “Treat the island like you would someone’s home,” he says.

While Puerto Rico’s tourism sector increases, Nolasco wants this campaign to spur responsible travel celebrating the island’s lively culture and maintaining its beauty for future generations.
